My Rules for Life

Most people I know, whether they be friends, family members, employees and even strangers have expectations on how others and themselves should behave in private and public places.

I like to call them "My Rules for Life."

There are always exceptions to the rules of course, but I've decided to work on a list of rules where people can have a better understanding of why I do the things I do.

For example, when I was 18yrs old, I made a relationship rule, and that was to NEVER date the same man twice. EVER. Of course I broke that rule when I was 21yrs old, but then I kicked my relationship life in gear and made sure I never broke that rule again.

I'm married now at 28yrs old. #JustSaying

Rules have always worked for me. They especially help me with stopping the worrying cycle. Here, I'll explain:

After I moved to Los Angeles, I had started to Skype with some of my friends and family members. Oh, Skype is a computer program to video chat with anyone around the world for free with a free account. Anyways, my friend and I had started to video chat but then they had to stop the chat because the doorbell had rang. They mentioned that they would be back in a few minutes. Those few minutes turned into 5 minutes, and then 10 minutes. So, I decided to make a new rule for myself, which was: "Wait for only 15 minutes. At the end of the 15 minutes, leave a nice message mentioning that you were sorry to have missed them but to offer to reschedule at another time." That way, you weren't being a snob for waiting for only 5 minutes but you also don't want to be a doormat either and wait forever wondering if you're being a terrible friend for not waiting. 15 minutes works for me, but maybe yours is only 2 minutes. Hey, it's YOUR rules ;)

So, let's get started with My Rules for Life:

 1. NEVER DATE THE SAME PERSON TWICE. You can be friends with them if it works, but if you are young, you need to not waste this time and go out and see the world!
2. WAIT FOR ONLY 15 MINUTES. Look, they are already wasting your time. Unless you're in a foreign country and they don't know where everything is, there's no excuse. They can always wake up earlier, get ready faster and take the bus or drive earlier. #JustSaying
3. BUY ONE OR TWO ITEMS IF YOU ARE CLOTHES/ACCESSORY SHOPPING. I use to have this bad habit of seeing the best looking shirt and then I would buy the same one 5x in 5 different colors. Even if the shirts were $10 each, that's still $50 wasted. This would backfire on me especially if the next day a pair of shoes were on sale but I just over blew my budget so I had to pass them by. So sad. In the end, at the end of the week, SOMETHING is always on sale. So please! Put down that credit card!

I will be adding to this list as my life shows me more rules to come up with.
And by all means, add your own rules in the comments below ;)
Bye for now :D
